The Pleasure of Rest
I’m thrilled to offer this workshop for the meadow-verse festival on The Portal Collective!
In the midst of the polycrisis - where exhaustion often feels like the baseline and urgency rules the day - rest and pleasure can feel impossible, even guilt-inducing. We're taught that productivity is proof of worth, and that rest must be earned, rather than honored as a birthright.
This workshop invites you to remember that rest and pleasure are not luxuries, but practices of resistance and repair. Even within collapse, we can root into joy and tenderness - through the texture of a warm drink, the quiet of a long exhale, or the simplicity of being unhurried.
Together, we’ll explore how rest can be a daily act of reclaiming space and pleasure a radical orientation toward life. Through journaling prompts and gentle somatic exploration, we’ll ask: What does the pleasure of rest feel like in my body? And how might it help me stay present in this world, without burning out or numbing out?
